Organise an event
Have you ever thought about organising an event or adding a charitable dimension to something you already do? A birthday party or anniversary is often a good moment to ask people to make a donation in lieu of presents. Old favourites like a coffee morning or afternoon tea never go out of fashion and dinner party events such as a curry evening for family and friends is an increasingly popular way to raise funds whilst having a good time.
Throughout the year there are opportunities to organise events such as a quiz nights and barn dances. For people with a particular hobby or interest, an artist could hold an open studio day and a keen gardener could organise a garden party or open day.

Organise a challenge event
Mass participation events and challenges have never been more popular. If there is a burning desire in you to try something new why not ask people to sponsor you to do it. There are plenty of independently organised running, walking, cycling or skydiving challenge events around the country and indeed internationally for you to choose from. Staff fundraising
Staff fundraising, charity dress down days, raffles and quiz nights, team building sessions with a charitable aspect is often a highlight in the workplace calendar. If your company is looking to support a charity with an overseas interest then Village Service Trust would be delighted to assist you. Our Programmes Fundraising Manager is on hand with advice, materials and support to help make fundraising as engaging, enjoyable and easy as possible. Fundraising at work is a good way to get people working together, to develop new skills and to boost morale. Many companies run a match giving scheme whereby they will match the amount you raise up to a certain amount.

Service organisations, societies and committees
Are you a member of a community group or society that would take on VST as a worthwhile charity to support either through a one-off event or over the course of a season or year? It may be that your group would want to support a range of local, national and international charities. Could VST be the international charity of choice? We would be delighted to count on your support. VST is able to provide you with resources such as newsletters, photos, case studies for a display and a DVD film to help you tell your group about our work.
